KING SIZE QUILT

Again I started a quilt without reading the measurements, had to finish it and here is the result

it is made from leftovers from another king size quilt...

I do not like to knit two of the same, but sometimes it is nice to dress the twins in similar outfits and a good friend volunteered to make one of the jackets

I lined these two baskets today,

Also a new project on my needles, a shawl on circular needles, so far it is fun and hard to put down

We had a drive to the countryside
this is a popular "waterhole" for bikers

Ready for a drive

Stella, our Maine Coon cat

We have two cats, one that we brought from Norway, Lizzy, and Stella. Stella is a Maine Coon and she is 3 years old tomorrow. We bought her at a cat show here in Houston when she was almost 1 year. We did not go to the show to get a cat, but she came home with us... it took a long time before Lizzy accepted her in the house, and she is still not very friendly towards her. Luckily that Stella is so much bigger.

Her name in the papers is Terrificats Thunderella, but we shortened it to Stella. She is a brown/black classic tabby maine coon. The Maine coons are also called "the gentle giant" and Stella is a very good example of that, she is very friendly.

Here she is with our baby boy.

She is a indoor cat, but once in a while she takes a little walk outside in the garden

The bathroom sink is one of her favorite places.

Still room for two of us!

HAPPY VALENTINE!

Twins are 2 months old on Valentine! Here they are in their new valentine outfit.

They keep me very busy, but in between feeding and diaper changing I managed to work on baby sister's dress, I am knitting her a dress called "uglekjolen", I tried to frame big sister's cross stitching and I even managed to bake! I had a lot of energy yesterday...

This afternoon they have been sleeping for a few hours and I have visited my sewing room, my sewing machine welcomed me back and I made a little progress on the cowboy quilt I am making on order. I think there is a picture of the cowboy quilt earlier in my blog.

Time is flying...

The twins are already 6 weeks. They got some beautiful baby shoes from a knitting friend.

The baby jacket is finished. I think this one is for him. I used another yarn than the pattern asked for and it is a bit too big now, he will soon grow into it. Maybe I will make one more .I found the pattern here

CLASSIC DALE BABY JACKET and HAT

I made this jacket and hat more than 18 years ago for my older daughter to wear home from hospital when she was born. Here is my little baby girl wearing it on the way to her 2 weeks check up at the pedietrician. I guess the knitted set is a classic and that it is in one of the newer Dale pattern books since it is still popular today.

The twins are 4 weeks today and they are growing fast. They are now both grown out of their preemie outfits, hopefully one day my little girl will play with babydolls that can use the clothes.

Here is a baby quilt top that I will try to find time to quilt this week

COUNTRY ANGEL

Every year I use to make a Santa, but this year I made an angel.

I had big plans this year about making some Norwegian santas called "Isolde Nisser", but this is how far I got, I have the book and a big box with wool and material, even a knitted outfit is done

Maybe if I start early in the New Year I will have one done for next year?

In my garden!

We have had some beautiful days here lately, this is the best time of the year in Houston.
Here is the banana plant that I got from my son last year, it has grown alot, they say that bamboo is the fastest growing plant, so I assume that the bananaplant is not far down the list.... I blogged the plant a year ago, have a look for yourself.

I love the moonflower with the big flowers blooming in the evening and they smell good too

Some seeds that I planted,

more flowers

I found Stella in the garden too.

On my knitting needles I am still working on my shawl, hopefully I will finish it this week end. Beside that I am working on an order I have on the cowboy quilt.

February Lady Sweater

It has been awhile since I blogged, as usual, very busy, I had a "Fallmarket" here at my house, and then I had visitors in for the Quilt Festival. I finished my FLS a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. It is knitted in Rowan Denim yarn, which is cotton. I don't like to knit with cotton, but living in a warm climate the jacket will be used more than if I made it in wool.
Here shown on my silent, headless girlfriend:

On my needles now I have a shawl. I knit with some wonderful yarn from Danish mohair goats.
